Investment Growth Calculator
Project an investment balance from a starting amount, monthly deposits, return assumption, and compounding frequency. Calculate it clearly with Figur.
How the investment growth calculator works
Project an investment balance from a starting amount, monthly deposits, return assumption, and compounding frequency.
Method and assumptions
Figur compounds the starting balance at the selected annual, monthly, or daily frequency and converts that rate to an effective monthly rate. It then adds each contribution at the end of the month and totals projected growth.
- The annual return is constant and compounds at the selected frequency.
- Monthly contributions are made at the end of each month.
- Fees, taxes, inflation, withdrawals, and changes in contributions or return are excluded.
Educational projection, not financial or investment advice. Returns are not guaranteed and an investment can lose value.

Worked example
Invest $10,000 now and $500 monthly for 20 years at 7%, compounded monthly.
The estimated ending value is $300,850.72, separated into contributions and investment growth.
Frequently asked questions
When are monthly contributions added?
They are added at the end of each month, so each deposit begins earning after it is contributed.
Is a return guaranteed?
No. The return is a constant planning assumption; investment values can rise or fall.
